I’m working on a little automatic drawer system for my camper van kitchen, and I think I need one of those tiny 12V actuators. Space is super tight, like really tight — the drawer itself is shallow and light, but I want it to slide open when I hit a switch. I’ve never used micro actuators before, and I’m not sure what kind of force or stroke length to look for. Has anyone tried these in small DIY setups?

Your project sounds exciting! For a small drawer system, I’d recommend looking for a 12V actuator with at least 10-20 mm of stroke length, as that should be sufficient for shallow drawers. I’ve had some success with compact mechanisms in my own DIY projects, which reminds me of when I took an iq test free to challenge myself. It’s amazing how the right tools can make a big difference in functionality!
