Yap FM - Earlier today, March 3rd, the College of Micronesia-FSM Fisheries and Maritime; Maritime Institute campus held a Handover Ceremony regarding Japan’s Grant Aid Project - Enhancing Capacities of the Fisheries and Maritime Institute in the Federated States of Micronesia at 9:30 am at the College of Micronesia-FSM Fisheries and Maritime Institute campus.
In the beginning of the ceremony, the Masters of Ceremony, Mr. Serphin I. and the Commanding Officer Jeffrey Sigrah welcomed distinguished guests and the off-island dignitaries to the ceremony. Followed by the program opening invocation by Pastor Amani Lalabalavu, followed by the presentation of colors led by the students from FMI along with the national anthem sung by the Yap Campus-FMI Choir. The mission statement was then delivered by FMI Executive Officer Micah Marelmadaw.
After Mr. Marelmedaw delivered the mission statement, the President of the College of Micronesia, Dr. Theresa B. Koroivulaono was giving the welcoming remarks. Following the Yap State Governor Francis Itimai and his remarks. The feature address was delivered by Vice President of the Federated States of Micronesia, Aren Palik, with additional remarks from the Ambassador of Japan to the FSM, Nobuo Kagomiya.
The ceremony included the formal key handover, ribbon cutting, closing remarks by Regent Geraldine Mitagyow of the COM-FSM Board of Regents, a group photo, project slideshow, and a building tour, marking the successful completion and official turnover of the project.
