The Office of Planning and Budget loaded the Hapilmohol 2 with Water Supply for all of Yap’s Outer Islands

Yap FM - Yesterday, April 23rd, the Office of Planning and Budget, along with the Department of Public Works and Transportation, loaded the Hapilmohol 2 with 26 pallets of bottled water for all of the outer islands.
This response is issued by the Yap State Government in reference to communications received regarding shortages of drinking water in the outer islands. Initial requests for emergency drinking water assistance were first received from the representatives of Ifalik and Eauripik, who reported urgent needs for relief support. Subsequently, further communication was received from the Chairman of the Council of Tamol, Mr. Paul Marlul, requesting drinking water relief assistance for all outer islands.
The water delivery would be on the MV Hapilmohol 2 this coming field trip, which is scheduled to leave on April 26, 2026.
The Office of Planning and Budget is also sending an Assessment Team with the water supply to deliver the drinking water supplies and to also do an assessment on all the Outer Islands of Yap regarding water security.
