Yap FM - Yap Communicable Disease Report for Epidemiological Week 33, covering the period of August 10-16, 2026. This report presents a comprehensive overview of syndromic trends and activities from 23 sentinel sites across the state, including laboratory‑confirmed cases, public health updates, and recommendations.
Total Encounters: 514 patient encounters were reported across 23 sentinel sites, with no syndromic Alerts this week.
Dengue-like Illness (DLI) – On Alert: A total of 4 DLI diagnoses were reported by the OPD Main Hospital. The lab reported 2 patients confirmed with leptospirosis.
Diarrhea: Diarrheal cases increased to 6 cases, reported by OPD Main Hospital (4), Nimgil CHC (1), and Eauripik Dispensary (1). The laboratory reported a total of 4 patients confirmed for E. coli, including 2 patients initially diagnosed with diarrhea.
Influenza-Like Illness (ILI): ILI remains below threshold status this week, with 6 cases all reported by OPD Main Hospital. 2 patients tested positive for respiratory illness; 1 positive for Human Rhinovirus and the other co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 and Mycoplasma Pneumoniae.
Total Syndromic Cases: 16 cases reported across sentinel sites.
