Yap State 11th Legislature Delegation Completes China Exchange Workshop

Yap FM - On Thursday, September 17, the Yap State Legislature shared highlights from the Workshop on Friendly Exchanges in China, attended by Senator Victor Bamog, Senator John Mafel, Senator Ann-Marie Laamar, Assistant Chief Clerk, and IT, Jovanna Lou Iriarte Madracheluib of the Yap State 11th Legislature Delegation from August 24 to September 7, 2026.

The program included official meetings, lectures, cultural and historical visits, and exchanges with Chinese national and provincial institutions. Key areas of discussion included governance, FSM–China relations, economic development, climate change, marine development, rural revitalization, technology, and cultural heritage.

In Beijing, the delegation met with representatives of several Chinese government institutions and visited major historical sites. In Zhejiang Province, the delegation visited Ningbo, Zhoushan, Shengzhou, and Hangzhou to learn about marine development, port infrastructure, grassroots governance, rural revitalization, traditional culture, and technology.

At the closing ceremony, FSM Congress Speaker Hon. Esmond Moses expressed appreciation for the program and emphasized the importance of continued exchanges and cooperation between the FSM and China.

The delegation returned to Yap on September 13, concluding the official exchange program.
