The Division of Youth Services hosts the first day of the Annual 2nd Youth Summit

Yap FM - Yesterday, August 12, the Division of Youth Services opened the first day of its Annual Youth Summit at the Yap Living History Museum from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with more than 70 young people in attendance.

The summit also coincided with International Youth Day, an annual observance that recognizes the contributions of young people while highlighting challenges they face in areas such as education, employment, health, and civic participation. The observance also emphasizes the important role of youth creativity and leadership in strengthening communities, driving innovation, and advancing sustainable development.

The event began with participant registration, followed by welcoming remarks from the Youth Awareness Officer, Ms. Slatelynna L. The participants then took part in several fun and engaging ice-breaker games, creating an energetic and welcoming atmosphere for the day’s activities.

Following the morning activities, participants enjoyed lunch before continuing with a mini game of Trivia, where participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge and win exciting prizes.

The afternoon activities continued with a warm-up exercise, followed by a fun and competitive tug-of-war game. The activities encouraged teamwork, participation, and positive interaction among the youth.

Overall, the first day of the Youth Summit was filled with learning, fun, teamwork, and meaningful engagement, providing participants with an enjoyable and memorable experience.

The second and third days will be held at the Small Business Development Center Conference Room from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
