The Yap Fishing Club held its Annual 2026 Vital Fishing Derby

Yap FM - On Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Yap Fishing Club hosted its Annual 2026 Vital Fishing Derby at the Yap Fishing Authority Seaport.

The event officially began at 6:00 a.m., with 13 registered participants heading out to sea in pursuit of the day's biggest catch. Throughout the day, anglers competed to reel in the largest fish for a chance to claim top honors.

At 5:00 p.m., the participants returned to the seaport, where members of the Yap Fishing Club weighed each competitor's catch to determine the winners.

Following the official weigh-in, raffle winners were announced, bringing an exciting conclusion to another successful Annual Vital Fishing Derby. The event highlighted friendly competition, sportsmanship, and the shared passion for fishing within the Yap community.
