Painted vs veneered interior doors – which lasts longer?

Planning door replacements and stuck between painted finishes or natural veneer. Painted seems easier to match walls, but worried about chipping/peeling in high-traffic areas. Anyone have long-term experience with Interior painted doors? Best for humid spots like bathrooms?

Interior painted doors are great if you want full color control—they let you match or contrast walls exactly, and modern paints are tougher than older ones against scratches/humidity. Mine (semi-gloss white) have held up well for 18 months with just occasional touch-ups; no major peeling even near the kitchen. They hide minor imperfections better than raw veneer too. Go for factory-applied multi-layer finishes for durability—cheaper DIY paints don't compare. I sourced some solid MDF-core painted ones in various styles that looked sharp and felt sturdy: Interior painted doors Easy to clean, and the even coat gives a polished vibe. Solid option if you're after consistency and low-fuss maintenance.
