11th Yap State Legislature Holds Public Hearings on Board of Education Nominees

Yap FM - The Committee on Resources, Education and Development (RED) of the 11th Yap State Legislature held three public hearings on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, regarding Governor Communication No. 11-576: Nomination for the Yap State Board of Education at the Yap State Legislature Chamber.
In attendance were members of the Committee on Resources, Education and Development (RED), the nominees Lourdes F. Roboman, Aileen Tareg, and Jeffrey Filenguy, the Chairman of the Board of Education, the Director of the Department of Education (DOE), the Governor, legislative staff, and members of the public.
The purpose of Governor Communication No. 11-576 is to consider the Governor's nominations for appointment to the Yap State Board of Education.
The public hearings provided an opportunity for the nominees to present their qualifications and respond to questions from committee members. Testimony was also received from the Chairman of the Board of Education, the Director of DOE, and the Governor. Members of the public were invited to submit written comments to the committee and offer testimony after the scheduled witnesses had completed their presentations, ensuring an open and transparent nomination process.
