ANNOUNCEMENT: Yap Inter-Agency Nutrition Education Council (YINEC)

Yap Inter-Agency Nutrition Education Council (YINEC) would like to invite you to the 2026 World Food Day celebrations to be held on Friday 16 October at the Living History Museum from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The 2026 World Food Day theme "Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow" highlights forward thinking solutions, combined with traditional knowledge and inclusive approaches, to help ensure that everyone has access to sufficient, diverse, safe, and nutritious foods, while safeguarding the planet for future generations.

645 million people still face hunger, and one-third of the world's population cannot afford a healthy diet. The World Food Day 2026 theme, "Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow", calls on all of us to harness human ingenuity to change this. The most effective innovations are not always the newest. Traditional knowledge and formal science can work side by side to manage water, conserve biodiversity, and strengthen food production.

By working together, when the right innovations reach the right people, they change lives. Action feeds the future, and everyone has a role to play.

Activities at the 2026 World Food Day event will include agricultural displays, information booths, health screening, local produce sales, and much more.
