Yap FM - This past Saturday, September 12th, the General Manager of the Yap Fishing Authority (YFA), along with his staff, received an emergency call from a Coast Guard vessel experiencing a mechanical failure. The vessel requested assistance and was subsequently rescued and escorted to the Yap Fishing Authority Seaport for docking.

According to one of the crew members, the vessel would remain docked at YFA until a mechanic and engineer could arrive from Guam to repair the machinery.

Yesterday, the mechanic and engineer arrived from Guam and successfully repaired the vessel. Following the completion of the repairs, the Coast Guard vessel departed the YFA Seaport to continue its mission.

While the crew members were unable to provide details regarding the purpose of their mission, they expressed their appreciation and sincere thanks to the Yap Fishing Authority and its staff for their assistance and support during the emergency.
