The FSMTCC continues its scheduled road cutting and crossing at the GaanelayIntersection

Yap FM - This past Saturday, August 15th, the FSM Telecommunications Cable Corporation (FSMTCC) continued its scheduled road-cutting and crossing work at the Gaanelay Intersection on Saturday, August 15, as part of the ongoing fiber-optic network build-out across Yap.

Work began at approximately 8:30 a.m., with crews carrying out road cutting and duct burial activities to create underground pathways for the installation of fiber-optic cables.

The construction is an important component of the island-wide telecommunications infrastructure project, which aims to expand the fiber network and improve connectivity for communities across Yap.

The duct burial process allows fiber-optic cables to be installed beneath the roadway while providing the necessary infrastructure to support the expanding network. The work at Gaanelay represents another phase in the broader development of Yap's fiber-optic system.

Residents and motorists traveling through the affected area were encouraged to exercise caution and remain alert for construction crews and ongoing road work.

As construction continues in communities across the island, the FSMTCC's work at Gaanelay marks another step toward the completion of the fiber-optic network and improved telecommunications connectivity throughout Yap.
