We are currently looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Project Assistant to be based in our operations in Yap State, FSM.
Job Summary
As MEAL Project Assistant, you will work with program staff, partners and community members on data collection and management, promoting beneficiary accountability and documentation and sharing of learning. You will contribute to projects that benefit local communities. You will support field level data collection and documentation activities implemented in Yap and Chuuk State.
Roles and Key Responsibilities
Support the timely collection of high-quality data that the project needs to monitor progress;
Support the project staff in organizing and implementing quantitative and qualitative data collection at field level;
Support the organization and conduct of MEAL training workshops, meetings, and other related events;
Enter data into project databases and ensure that data are properly and continuously updated, organized, stored, and protected;
Ensure that hard copy data records from the field are organized, stored, and protected in the CRS offices;
Assist in the preparation of scheduled reports and other learning documentation;
Support the MEAL consultant and Program Manger to identify and address issues in the MEAL system and contribute to system improvement;
Support the capacity building of CRS staff in MEAL;
Support the implementation of the project feedback and response mechanism; and
Provide support to other CRS program team activities as required, and perform other relevant duties as required by the supervisor.
Basic Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High School Diploma required; Associate degree or other post-high school diploma preferred;
Experience in conducting surveys, facilitating focus group discussions and interviews, and other quantitative and qualitative data collection methods;
Minimum 1-3 years' work or volunteer experience in supporting community development or conducting surveys and collecting data;
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups;
Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented; and
Numeracy and digital literacy skills.
Required Languages: Yapese and English. Fluency in any of the Outer Island languages is desirable.
Travel: Must be willing and able to travel to Yap Outer Islands, including extended stay in communities, for more than 50% of the time.
