Yap State Leadership held a Courtesy Call with the U.S. Army Pacific Religious Support Office

Yap FM - The Yap State Leadership welcomed the U.S. Army Pacific Religious Support Office during a courtesy call hosted by the Governor’s Office on September 9 at the Governor’s Conference Room.
The meeting, held at 10:00 a.m., was led by Colonel John Smith of the U.S. Army Pacific Religious Support Office. The courtesy call provided an opportunity for both sides to strengthen engagement and discuss ongoing efforts to support communities across the Federated States of Micronesia.
During the meeting, Colonel Smith shared information about the office’s mission to conduct mental health and religious support engagements across all four states of the Federated States of Micronesia. The initiative aims to promote community well-being while strengthening connections with local leaders and faith-based communities.
The delegation also discussed recent efforts to engage with religious leaders and communities, highlighting the importance of collaboration and community outreach in addressing the needs of individuals and families.
Another area of discussion was the U.S. Army Pacific Religious Support Office’s collaboration with the Division of Youth Services during the 2026 Youth Summit. The partnership reflected ongoing efforts to engage young people and provide support through programs focused on their overall well-being and development.
The courtesy call concluded with a prayer led by Colonel Smith, followed by the presentation of gifts to the Yap State Leadership as a gesture of appreciation and goodwill.
The meeting underscored the importance of continued cooperation between the U.S. Army Pacific Religious Support Office and local leadership as efforts continue to support the mental, spiritual, and social well-being of communities throughout the Federated States of Micronesia.
