Yap, FM – The College of Micronesia-FSM Yap Campus has launched a community-based survey to map End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) across the island, with partnership from the FSM Department of Transportation, Communications & Infrastructure (TC&I) and the United Nations Office of Projects and Services (UNOPS).
This began yesterday on May 12, 2025, and continuing through June 1, 2025, COM-FSM students will be visiting villages throughout Yap to identify ELVs—vehicles that are no longer operational and pose environmental risks.
This initiative is being carried out in close coordination with the Council of Pilung, whose endorsement supports student access to communities for this important environmental survey.
Residents are kindly asked to welcome the student teams and cooperate in efforts to locate and document these vehicles, contributing to a cleaner, safer Yap.
