Yap FM - On Saturday, September 12, the Yap Historical Preservation Officer, together with the Acting Director of the Department of Youth and Civic Affairs (DYCA), met with community members in Chool, Maap, to formally close out a restoration project and recognize their continued efforts to preserve an important piece of Yapese culture and history.

The project began on April 27th, when community members came together to repair the roof of a men’s house in Chool, Maap. Through their collective effort, dedication, and commitment to preserving their cultural heritage, the community worked to restore and protect this important historical structure for future generations.

The gathering served not only as an opportunity to acknowledge the completion of the restoration work, but also to recognize and celebrate the community members whose continued efforts help keep Yap’s history, traditions, and cultural heritage alive.
