Department of Health Services Hosts World Heart Day Walkathon

Yap FM - On Saturday, October 3rd, in observance of World Heart Day, the Public Health/NCD Program under the Department of Health Services hosted a walkathon at the Yap Living History Museum from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
The activity brought together community members, families, and friends to promote heart health and encourage regular physical activity as an important part of preventing noncommunicable diseases.
Participants gathered at the Yap Living History Museum for a morning walk focused on raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy heart and adopting healthier lifestyle choices.
The Department of Health Services encouraged community members of all ages to take part in activities that support cardiovascular health, including regular physical activity, healthy eating, and other healthy lifestyle practices.
The World Heart Day walkathon served as an opportunity for the community to come together in support of a healthier Yap and to promote greater awareness of heart health and noncommunicable disease prevention.
