Yap FM - Last Saturday June 27, 2026 the Division of Youth Service welcomed back Australian Volunteer, Freya Kinden. Ms. Kinden previously served as a volunteer from the Australian Volunteer Program with the Division of Youth Services from June to December 2025, during which she spent six months supporting youth development initiatives and working alongside local youth groups and community partners. Her contributions during that period helped strengthen youth engagement and capacity-building efforts across Yap State.
Returning for her new assignment, Ms. Kinden will assess the interest and feasibility of establishing a Youth Mentor Exchange Program between Yap State and Australia. The role also involves supporting the Division of Youth Services and local youth groups in the implementation and continuation of youth activities and development programs, as well as facilitating workshops that address the interests and needs of young people in Yap State.
The Division of Youth Services serves as the host organization in Yap and plays a key role in supporting these objectives. The organization is responsible for ensuring that the representative is appropriately settled, follows established protocols, and is introduced to relevant stakeholders through appropriate meetings to facilitate effective collaboration and program implementation.
