Dress up dance rehearsal held at Kanifay Church

Yap FM - On Sunday, December 14th, the Nimgil Dance Group for the Kanifay Church held a dress-up dance rehearsal at the Kanifay Church at 5:00 pm.

The purpose of this dance rehearsal was for the Nimgil Dance Group, along with the Kanifay Church members, to gather together and help the dancers dress up in their colourful and vibrant local attire. The men of the Kanifay community were also invited to witness the traditional dance performance and also offer their blessings on the local dance performance.

After the dancers were all dressed up in their local attire, the Kanifay Church members, along with the men of the Kanifay communities, all gathered in front of the church and watched the dancers as they performed the traditional local dance.

In doing so, the Kanifay Church members, along with the men, can make any corrections on the traditional dance performance if needed, before the final performance, which would be held at the open house for the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in January 2026.
