The International Organization for Migration (IOM), with funding from the Government of Japan, donated important equipment to the airport and local hospital on April 29, 2025. The goal is to help improve border management and make the response to infectious diseases stronger and faster. This support will also help improve the airport’s infrastructure and strengthen its ability to control borders during health emergencies.
On April 29, the International Organization Migration delivered medical supplies and electronic devices, including thermal scanners and IT equipment, and successfully reviewed the official guidelines for border health management for Yap.
The donation event took place at the airport. It was attended by the Head of IOM, Mr. Philip Raffilpiy, the Acting Governor Thomas G. Tun, a representative from the Department of Health Services, as well as Public Works and Transportation, airport staff, and other important guests.
