Yap, FM- Leaders from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) gathered in Pohnpei to discuss ways to improve education. The ceremony was attended by the Directors of Education from Yap Dominic Fanasog, the Director of Education from Chuuk Dr. Margarita Cholymay, the Director of Education from Kosrae Dr. Tulensru Waguk, and the Director of Education from Pohnpei Stanley Etse, as well as Dr. Theresa Koroivulaono, President of the College of Micronesia.
These leaders, who are part of the FSM Association of Chief State School Officers (FACSSO), focused on transforming local culture into academic courses to make learning more meaningful and connected to the community.
During the event, the Director of Education from Yap State cut a ribbon for a new system transformation grant aimed at repairing schools on the main island of Yap and the outer islands of Yap. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve school facilities and education across the FSM.
The collaboration between the FSM education leaders shows a strong commitment to bettering education for students throughout the country.
