YAP, FM- “The real strength of any government comes from the team behind the leaders, especially the hardworking Cabinet Members,” said Governor Charles S. Chieng in a note shared on May 6th. This is an update about his continued absence from Yap due to medical treatment overseas. This message follows his earlier letter on March 10, 2025, when his medical treatment first started.

While he is away, the Lieutenant Governor will continue to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Governor, as stated in the Constitution of the State of Yap.

Governor Chieng thanks the Lieutenant Governor, the Cabinet Members, and all parts of the government for their strong leadership and teamwork. He is very proud of how everyone is still working together to serve the people of Yap during this time.

He also wants to remind everyone that the real strength of any government comes from the team behind the leaders, especially the hardworking Cabinet Members. He and the Lieutenant Governor depend on their dedication and efforts to keep the state running smoothly.

Although it is difficult to be away, Governor Chieng is focusing on his health so he can return stronger and continue serving the people of Yap. He sends his warm thoughts to everyone and encourages all government workers to keep doing their best for the state.
