In celebration of Youth Week, the Division of Youth Services visits several elementary schools

Yap FM - This past Monday, April 27th, in celebration of Youth Week, the Division of Youth Services conducted a week-long outreach to several schools on Yap's main island. From Monday to Wednesday, April 27-April 29, the Division of Youth Services visited North Fanif Elementary School, Bael Elementary School, Gagil Elementary School, and Tamilang Elementary School


During their visit, the Division of Youth Services led several fun activities, such as soccer for grades 5-8 and hula hoop tossing for grades 1-4.


The Division of Youth Services will also be visiting St. Mary’s Elementary School tomorrow, May 1st, to conduct fun sports activities, such as soccer and volleyball, for grades 5-8. Students from grades 5-8 were split into two groups for each activity, led by the Youth Sports and Recreational Officer, Maphrick Ruweday, and the JICA volunteer, Kenta Otsubo.


These fun sports activities were intended to improve physical health, enhance mental well-being, improve learning outcomes, and improve social connections among the students.
