Nomination of Mr. Magmay Magmay to Yap State CourtFriday, December 27, 2024/// DYCA PIO

In a letter from Governor Chieng to Speaker Figirlaarwon dated December 19, 2024. The Governor informed the speaker that he had nominated Mr. Magmay Magmay to be an Associate Justice for the Yap State Court.

In his letter, he made note that Associate Justice Jesse Torwan resigned from the Yap State Court several months ago due to health reasons, leaving Chief Justice Manmaw and Associate Justice Tun as the remaining judges. Further, Associate Justice Tun’s term is set to expire on December 26, 2024.

The Governor seeks approval from the 11th Yap State Legislature for his nomination to ensure the continued functionality of the judicial branch and uphold the integrity of the court system.
