Public Safety Announcement: Reporting Unexploded Ordinances

Yap, FSM – The Department of Youth & Civic Affairs (DYCA) is issuing an important public safety announcement regarding unexploded ordinances (UXOs).

We urge the community to remain vigilant and report any sightings of unexploded ordinances or suspicious objects that may pose a danger, such as remnants from World War II, immediately.

If you encounter any suspicious or potentially dangerous objects, please take the following actions:


  • Do not approach the object.

  • Call DYCA at 350-2168 to report your findings.

  • If you believe the object poses an immediate danger, call 911 and stay away from the area.



Your timely reports are crucial in ensuring the safety of our community. The DYCA team will work to coordinate with the US Embassy to ensure proper disposal of these ordinances.
