Strong west to southwest winds will continue around Yap through Tuesday, with gusts up to 35 kt. Seas will build and become hazardous, making inter-island travel dangerous, especially for small craft.

Invest 97W remains northwest of Yap near 11N137E and is becoming better organized. A Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert is in effect, meaning a tropical depression could form within 24 hours. Winds and seas should gradually subside as 97W moves north.
