WEEK 74, DHS COMMUNICABLE DISEASE REPORT

On Thursday July 09, 2026, The Department of Health Services issued the latest Communicable Disease Report for week 27, from June 29, 2026 to July 05, 2026.
A total of 609 patient encounters were documented across the sentinel sites during the reporting period
(EpiWeek 27) with Diarrhea Alert reissued this week.
Diarrhea: A rebound is observed this week with a total of 10 cases reported from OPD Main Hospital (5), Marbaa CHC (1), and sentinels in the outer islands including Eauripik Dispensary (2) and Faraulap Dispensary (2). Laboratory testing confirmed 3 cases positive for diarrheal pathogens
Dengue Like Illness (DLI): Dengue Like cases count decreased with a total of 5 cases encountered at OPD Main Hospital with no positive dengue or leptospirosis reported this week.
Influenza-Like Illness (ILI): ILI cases increase with a total of 9 cases documented, all encountered at OPD Main Hospital, and no influenza tests conducted.
Prolonged Fever: OPD reported 1 case prolonged fever again this week with no lab confirmations.
Total Syndromic cases: In total, 25 syndromic cases were reported by OPD Main Hospital (20), Marbaa CHC (1), Eauripik Dispensary (2), and Faraulap Dispensary (2).
The Yap Lab reported a total of 11 positives were detected during the reported week. All 11 positive cases are diarrheal cases, mostly from bacterial pathogens.
