Yap FM - Yesterday, May 26th, the Chuuk Public Utility Corporation recognized the dedicated linemen from the Yap State Public Service Corporation who assisted in restoration efforts following Typhoon Sinlaku in Chuuk.
These dedicated linemen — Jacob Choay, Pantaleon Yatchdar, and Giltamag Baroy of the Yap State Public Service Corporation — first arrived in Chuuk on Monday, April 27, where they joined CPUC inspectors in accelerating reconnections across both central and outer areas of Weno, Chuuk. Their efforts focused on locations where the main power lines had already been energized, but customers had not yet been reconnected.
“
Before the linemen flew back to Yap, the CPUC extended its sincere appreciation to the delegation for their restoration efforts following Typhoon Sinlaku. The CPUC stated, “Chuuk’s restoration progress would not be where it is today without their valuable contributions and long hours in the field helping restore power to our communities.”
