Yap FM - Yesterday, January 28th the College of Micronesia Federated States of Micronesia Yap Campus, staff , Monalisa Layan held a workshop with the Division of Youth Services regarding Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) applications. The purpose of this workshop was that the Division of Youth Services can get a better understanding of how the Free Application for Federal Student Aid works. In that way, when the Division of Youth Services does their annual outreach programs in the communities, they can provide information and awareness to individuals in the communities that are interested in continuing their education.
During this workshop Monalisa discussed with the members of the Youth Services on the steps and procedures one must do when applying for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
They also discussed the many benefits FAFSA offers to individuals interested to attend college. The FAFSA is the single application required for all federal student aid programs. This includes money that does not need to be repaid, such as the Federal Pell Grant and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), as well as Federal Work-Study programs and federal student loans, some of which may have lower interest rates or interest subsidies.
