The Department of Health Services held its “National Kick Butts Day” Walkathon

Yap FM - This past Friday, March 27th the Division of Public Health under the Department of Health Services hosted its “ National Kick Butts Day “ at the Yap Living History Museum. This event was mainly spearheaded by the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program (BHW), TB Program, in collaboration with Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Program (WASH).
The Walkathon initially started at 3:00 pm, where the participants would start walking from the Yap Living History Museum to the Yap State Legislature and back.
During the walkathon, some participants would gather non-biodegradable debris along the roadside while the rest of the participants would carry signs that indicated the signs of Tuberculosis, the importance of protecting water sources, and the downsides of tobacco use.
This walkathon was mainly created to raise awareness, educate, and promote health.
