Yap FM - Yesterday, the FSM National Adaptation Plan Coordination Team held a two-day workshop at the Yap Early Childhood Education Centre Conference Room regarding the National Adaptation Plan for Yap State.
The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is actively working on a National Adaptation Plan (NAP) to address the impacts of climate change. The NAP aims to guide adaptation planning at the state and national levels, with a focus on strengthening governance mechanisms, enhancing the evidence base for climate change adaptation planning, and increasing support for accessing climate finance.
The FSM Adaptation Plan workshops are crucial for the development and implementation of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for the Federated States of Micronesia. These workshops aim to engage all stakeholders, including women, children, and vulnerable communities, in the planning process. The workshops are designed to introduce the project, its objectives, activities, intended outputs, approaches, and timeline. They also provide an opportunity to consult with national stakeholders on project direction and exchange knowledge on adaptation gaps and needs, challenges, and lessons learned from similar projects. The workshops are part of a three-year project funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Program (SPREP), executed by the Department of Environment, Climate Change, and Emergency Management (DECEM) of FSM.
