Yap FM - On Saturday, August 22nd, as part of the ongoing fiber-optic network build-out across Yap’s main island, the FSMTCC continued its scheduled road-cutting and crossing work along Gitam Road, across from the Last Stop Gas Station.
At 8:30 am, work initially began with crews carrying out road-cutting and duct burial activities to create underground pathways for the installation of fiber-optic cables.
Residents and motorists traveling through the affected area were encouraged to exercise caution and remain alert for construction crews and ongoing road work.
The duct burial process allows fiber-optic cables to be installed beneath the roadway while providing the necessary infrastructure to support the expanding network. The work at the Gitam road represents another phase in the broader development of Yap's fiber-optic system.

I’m really curious about how the road improvements on Gitam Road will impact local traffic! Have you noticed any changes already? I had a gd similar experience in my town when we revamped our main street; it made such a difference!
