Yap FM - On Saturday, August 22, the Yap Behavioral Health and Wellness Program held a Walkathon at the Yap Living History Museum from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event was organized to raise awareness about opioids and overdose.
Following registration, participants began their hike from the Yap Living History Museum toward the windmill site. Upon reaching the site, participants took a well-deserved break to rest, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and spend time together before making their way back to the museum.
Around 11:00 a.m., participants returned to the Yap Living History Museum, marking the completion of the Youth Hiking Event. After everyone had settled in and had an opportunity to rest, participants took part in a variety of activities, including raffle prizes, games, and other incentives.
The event also provided participants with access to free health screenings, adding an important wellness component to the day's activities. Overall, the Walkathon brought members of the community together to promote awareness of opioid-related risks while encouraging physical activity, health, and wellness.
