The Governor's Office issued a Holiday Message from the Yap State Governor

On December 24th, the Governor’s Office issued a Holiday Message from the Yap State Governor, Francis Itimai.

In the Holiday Message, Governor Francis Itimai stated that “ As we gather around this special time of year, I want to take a moment to extend warm wishes and heartfelt greetings to our Traditional leaders, our Yap State Government employees, our families and friends living abroad, and to each and every one of you. The holiday season is a time for reflection, gratitude, and celebration, and I hope that you find joy and peace in every moment. This year has brought its share of challenges, but it has also been a testament to our strength, resilience, and ability to accomplish things together as a community. Whether you’re spending the holidays with family and friends on our island or enjoying them abroad, I encourage you to embrace the spirit of the season. Appreciate the little moments—whether that’s savoring your favorite holiday food, listening to festive music, sharing laughter and making memories with your loved ones, or simply enjoying the twinkling lights that brighten our surroundings. “

Governor Francis Itimai also stated that “During this time, it’s important to remember that as we celebrate the holidays together, we do so safely and responsibly. Please take care while on our roads and ocean waters, look after one another, and be mindful of the choices we make. Let this season be one of peace and happiness for our families and communities. It’s important to reflect on the choices we made, the struggles we faced, and remember those dear to us that we lost as we navigate our way into the future. As we look ahead to the new year, let us carry forward the lessons we’ve learned and the connections we’ve strengthened. Let’s step into the new year with optimism and readiness to embrace what lies ahead and knowing that together we can overcome any hurdles that may come our way. May your holidays be filled with laughter, warmth, joy, peace, and lasting memories. To our families and friends living abroad, please know that you remain close to home in our thoughts and hearts. Your continued connection to Yap means a great deal to all of us.
