Yap FM - Earlier today, April 16th, the Office of the Governor issued a memorandum to the Office of Planning and Budget, regarding Water Supply for Ifalik Island and Eauripik Island.
On April 14th and 15th, representatives from Ifalik and Eauripik issued communications to Governor Francis Itimai, addressing the shortages of drinking water supplies. Due to prolonged periods of excessive dry weather, most of the water catchment systems and storage tanks have depleted.
In the memorandum, Governor Francis Itimai stated that “ Both jurisdictions are experiencing extreme drought and are in need to be provisioned immediately with water delivery on the next field trip of the MV H2, which is scheduled to leave on April 26, 2026.”
