The Outer Island High School held its 60th Graduation Ceremony

Yap FM - Earlier today, May 21, Outer Island High School held its 60th Graduation Ceremony in Falalop, Ulithi, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony opened with the procession of graduates and the presentation of the FSM National Anthem by the graduating class, followed by the invocation delivered by Mr. Lawrence Yaimangruw.


Special guests in attendance included Governor Francis Itimai, Floor Leader Terrence Fong, Rear Admiral Joshua Lasky, CSM Jimmy Castro and staff from the Joint Task Force Micronesia, and Director of Education Dominic Fanasog.


Outer Island High School Principal Mr. John Ug welcomed the guests and congratulated the graduates, encouraging them to pursue higher education and return to serve their communities, state, and nation. Remarks were also delivered by Salutatorian Jaden D. Sermaenipw, representatives of the Chiefs of Falalop and Mogmog, Floor Leader Terrence Fong on behalf of the 11th Yap State Legislature, Rear Admiral Joshua Lasky, Director Dominic Fanasog, and keynote speaker Governor Francis Itimai.


The ceremony continued with the presentation of the OIHS Honor Roll Awards by Student Body Chairman Joachin Muug and the presentation of diplomas by Director Dominic Fanasog. Valedictorian Ms. Donnalyn Ilourmal delivered the closing student address before the ceremony concluded with the closing prayer and recessional of the Graduating Class of 2026.


Following the conclusion, community members of Falalop and Mogmog presented two dances in celebration of the Graduation Ceremony.
