Yap, FM - Cumulative encounters reported this week by the sentinel sites is a total of 481 patients, with Diarrhea syndrome on Alert this week. The report covered March 30, 2026 to April 5, 2026.

Diarrhea is on Alert this week with reported numbers exceeding threshold for this syndrome. For Diarrhea, a total of 9 diarrheal cases were reported this week, all encountered at OPD Main Hospital. Out of the 9, 2 were confirmed positive by the lab.

Influenza like Illness (ILI), 2 influenza like Illness were reported by OPD Main Hospital with 0 influenza tests done at the lab this week.

Dengue Like Illness (DLI) – OPD Main Hospital reported 1 DLI case this week which came back with negative tests results from the lab.

For the Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) are still being reported with 3 cases reported by the sentinel sites as follows: 1 encountered at OPD Main Hospital, 1 encountered at Nimgil CHC and 1 encountered at Gagil CHC. The overall count of HFMD reported as of date is 79 cases with 81% of these cases being children ages zero to four years of age.

Recent Outreach in Ulithi Atoll focusing on Leprosy contact tracing, Chlamydia mass treatment and seeing regular walk in patients.

Ongoing DTAP, TDAP and Flu Vaccines administration scheduled weekly on Wednesdays at Public Health with recent outreaches done in Fais Island and Ulithi Atoll.

Public Health Advisory has been issued for public awareness and recommendations on suspect Hand Foot and Mouth disease in the community.

Public Announcement and Travel Advisory has been issued for awareness on Dengue cases in Chuuk and Pertussis cases reported by Guam and Pohnpei.
