Tropical Depression 17W is forecast to intensify through Thursday. It is expected to turn toward the northwest with an increase in forward speed through Thursday. The center will possibly pass through the Marianas sometimes Saturday-Sunday. Yap is not likely to experience any tropical storm force winds from TD 17W.
It's good to hear that Yap is not expected to be affected by Tropical Depression 17W, but the forecast for the Marianas passing through Saturday-Sunday is certainly concerning. Hopefully, the intensity doesn't pick up too much by then, allowing people to prepare effectively, perhaps even for some strategic sz games indoors if the weather gets rough.
