Yap, FM – A group of 12 students from Yap departed for Japan on June 14 as part of the annual Children Exchange Program, accompanied by two chaperones from the Department of Youth and Civic Affairs.
This youth exchange initiative, currently in its third year and organized under the National Institution for Youth Education, is designed to foster personal development, self-reliance, and cross-cultural awareness among young participants. The program emphasizes experiential learning through structured activities and community engagement.
This year, it selects a total of twelve students six from Yap’s outer islands and six from the main island who are given the opportunity to interact, share ideas and learn useful skills in a friendly place where people listen to each other and work together.
