Two Cargo Vessels Deliver Essential Supplies and Fuel to Yap

Yap FM - Over the weekend, two cargo vessels—Kyowa Falcon and MT Sophia—arrived in Yap, delivering containers and fuel to support local supply chains and commercial activity.
Kyowa Falcon arrived on Friday, June 26, from Palau and departed on Saturday, June 27, bound for Kosrae. During its port call, the vessel discharged 18 containers and loaded 9 outbound containers.
The inbound cargo included:
9 containers from Busan, Korea, carrying foodstuffs, canned goods, power and energy supplies, lead-acid batteries, one flatbed truck trailer, a pneumatic pick, cement, a dump truck fuel tank, a panga boat, and tight-head steel drums.
4 containers from Kobe, Japan, containing foodstuffs and general merchandise.
3 containers from Yokohama, Japan, carrying canned goods, foodstuffs, and general merchandise.
1 container from Guam containing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
1 container from Chuuk containing butane gas.
On Saturday, June 27, the crude oil tanker MT Sophia arrived in Yap from Guam and departed on Sunday, June 28, bound for Palau.
The vessel completed fuel discharge operations in accordance with the approved cargo plan. Following completion of cargo operations, the vessel's onboard fuel inventory was as follows:
Motor Gasoline (MOGAS) 91R: 4,600 metric tons, stored across four port-side cargo tanks.
Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD): 6,500 metric tons, stored across two port-side cargo tanks, with the remaining volume allocated to the port-side slop tank in accordance with the vessel's cargo management plan.
The arrivals of both vessels ensure the continued availability of essential consumer goods, construction materials, energy supplies, and fuel to support businesses and residents throughout Yap.
