Yap FM - TROPICAL STORM HAGUPIT CONTINUES TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWEST
THROUGH YAP STATE
TS Hagupit was located 8.9 N 138.5 E:
About 50 miles southeast of Yap
About 80 miles east-northeast of Ngulu
About 115 miles southwest of Ulithi
About 140 miles west-northwest of Sorol
About 150 miles west-southwest of Fais
Movement: West at 280 degrees at 12 mph
Maximum sustained winds: 45 mph
Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Fais, Ulithi, Ngulu and Yap Proper.
A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions, including winds of 39 to
73 mph, are expected within 24 hours.
TS Hagupit's maximum sustained winds remain at 45 mph, moving west at 12 mph.
Hagupit is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-northwest with a slight
decrease in forward speed through Saturday as it passes through or just south of Yap
Proper overnight. Hagupit is forecast to maintain this intensity through Saturday,
remaining a tropical storm.
