Yap, FM- The Project Management Office (PMO) under the Department of Planning and Budget has been overseeing an essential water storage project that began in 2024 and is now nearing completion.
“Water storage for the state of Yap is a critical part of Yap’s future,” said Patrick, Manager of the Division of the Project Management Office.
The Yap State Public Service Corporation (YSPSC) recognizes that reliable access to potable water is essential to the well-being of all citizens. The current water storage situation in Yap requires not only additional capacity but also ensures the delivery of high-quality potable water to meet the growing needs of the population.
According to projections, the demand for the next 40+ years necessitates the addition of a minimum of 180,000 gallons of storage capacity to the system serving Colonia and its surrounding areas.
The project is currently taking place in Dalolab, where the PMO is actively working on the construction of a new water storage tanks.
