Yap, FM- This week, one case of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) triggered an alert. The patient was diagnosed with Acute Bronchiolitis, admitted to the hospital, and later discharged after showing improvement.
Syndromic Case Reports:
Influenza-Like Illness (ILI): Five cases of ILI were reported this week, a decrease compared to last week. No positive influenza results were reported by the laboratory.
Dengue-Like Illness (DLI): One case of DLI was reported but was later confirmed to be a case of Leptospirosis.
Diarrhea: One case of diarrhea was reported and diagnosed as gastroenteritis, likely caused by an infection. However, no specific pathogen was confirmed by the lab.
Health Centers Reporting Cases:
This week's cases came from the Main Hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD) and Lamotrek Dispensary.
No Cases Reported for the Following Syndromes:
- Acute Fever and Rash (AFR)
- Prolonged Fever
- Unusual Events
Lab-Confirmed Pathogens This Week:
- Leptospirosis
- ESBL Klebsiella pneumoniae
- 2 cases of MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus)
- 4 cases of Chlamydia
- 2 cases of Gonorrhea
