Weekly Health Update: Week 21st Thursday, May 29, 2025, /// DYCA PIO

Yap, FM- This week’s health report shows that only two types of illnesses were recorded, and both remained below the alert level. There were 3 cases of diarrheal illness one from the Main Hospital diagnosed as diarrhea and gastroenteritis likely caused by an infection, and two cases from Ulithi Health Center with diarrhea symptoms. 


A total of 8 cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) were also reported. Six of these came from the Main Hospital and included diagnoses such as pneumonia, tonsillitis, flu-like symptoms, and upper respiratory infections. 


Ulithi Health Center and Satawal Dispensary each reported one case with ILI symptoms. No cases were reported for illnesses such as fever with rash, prolonged fever, dengue-like illness, severe respiratory infections, or unusual health events.


 Lab results this week confirmed 3 cases of Chlamydia, 1 case of ESBL (a drug-resistant E. coli), and 1 case of MRSA (a drug-resistant Staph infection). Health officials are continuing regular monitoring and encourage everyone to practice good hygiene and seek medical care if feeling unwell.
