Yap FM - On Saturday, September 19, U.S. Army Sergeants Skye and Angela hosted the “Wellness Wave” festival at the Living History Museum from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event brought together health, community, and music in a welcoming environment. It began with an opening ceremony and invocation, followed by free medical and vision screenings for community members.
The U.S. Army hosted a health check-up tent where participants could have their eyes checked and their blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight measured. Two local vendors also participated, offering local food and products. The Department of Health Services provided information through brochures and wellness materials, while Hebele also had a tent at the event. Community members took part in fitness activities throughout the afternoon.
One of the highlights of the festival was the U.S. Coast Guard Band performance. The event concluded with remarks from the Director of Department of Health Services, followed by a benediction led by Sergeant Angela. The “Wellness Wave” festival gave community members an opportunity to learn more about their health, connect with others, and enjoy an afternoon of music, activities, and fellowship.
