Yap FM - Yap Communicable Disease Report for Epidemiological Week 25, covering the period of June 15–21, 2026. This report presents a comprehensive overview of syndromic trends and activities from 23 sentinel sites across the state, including laboratory‑confirmed cases, public health updates, and recommendations.
Total Encounters: 515 patient encounters were reported across 21 sentinel sites, with all syndromes reporting below threshold, presenting no Alert this week.
Influenza-Like Illness (ILI):
5 ILI cases were all reported by the OPD Main Hospital.
No influenza tests were conducted by the Lab this week.
Diarrhoea (below threshold this week):
6 cases were all reported by the OPD Main Hospital.
Laboratory results confirmed 5 patients positive with 1 or more diarrheal pathogens, with the following distribution:
Norovirus GI/GII (1 patient)
Diarrheagenic E. coli/Shigella: Enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC) (1 patient)
Shigella/Enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC) (1 patient)
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) (3 patients)
Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) lt/st (4 patients)
Dengue-like illness (DLI)
5 DLI cases were all reported by the OPD Hospital
Out of the 5 cases, three (3) were confirmed positive for Leptospirosis
Total Syndromic Cases: 16 cases reported across sentinel sites.
