Yap FM - Yap Communicable Disease Report for Epidemiological Week 31, covering the period of July 27–August 02, 2026. This report presents a comprehensive overview of syndromic trends and activities from 23 sentinel sites across the state, including laboratory‑confirmed cases, public health updates, and recommendations.
Total Encounters: 580 patient encounters were reported across 23 sentinel sites, with Alert on Dengue Like Illness this week.
Dengue Like Illness (DLI) – On Alert: A total of 6 DLI diagnoses were reported by the OPD Main Hospital Of the 9 patients screened for dengue and leptospirosis, no positive cases were detected for either disease.
Diarrhea: Diarrheal cases increased again, surpassing the threshold this week with a total of 10 cases, reported by OPD Main Hospital (6), Gagil CHC (1), and Satawal Dispensary (3)
Laboratory results confirmed 5 of the mainland patients positive for Rotavirus and E. coli infections.
Influenza-Like Illness (ILI): ILI maintains below threshold status this week with 16 encounters, reported by OPD Main Hospital (11), Gagil CHC (3), and Ulithi Health Center in Falalop (2).
Lab reported 2 out of 3 patients tested, turning up positive for Human Rhinovirus/ Enterovirus.
Total Syndromic Cases: 26 cases reported across sentinel sites.
