Yap FM - Yap Communicable Disease Report Week 15, of 2026, covering the period from April 6, 2026, to April 12, 2026. The Communicable Disease Report offers a summary of significant syndromic trends and activities reported from 23 sentinel sites throughout the state, including laboratory-confirmed cases as well as public health updates and recommendations.
Week’s Highlights and Updates
1 Alert: DLI
The total number of Dengue Like Illness reported has reached the threshold and activated Alert Status for this syndrome this week.
Syndrome count, and reporting Sites:
Dengue-like illness (DLI) – A total of 7 DLI cases were reported this week, 5 encountered at the OPD Main Hospital and 1 encountered at Tamil CHC. From these cases, the lab reported 1 leptospirosis-positive case from the DLI cases.
Diarrhea – Diarrheal cases reported this week have decreased in comparison to the previous week’s report, and now stand at a total of 5, below the threshold. OPD Main Hospital encountered 4 cases, and 1 case was encountered at Tamil CHC. The lab reported 1 case testing positive for two E. coli types, specifically EAEC and EPEC.
Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) – 1 influenza-like illness was reported by the OPD Main Hospital, with 0 influenza tests done at the lab this week.
Note: A decrease in Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) instances can be seen this week with 1 case reported by Gagil CHC, but new information received on four cases reported by Ifalik Dispensary accumulated up to a total of 85 cases, 84% being children ages 0 to 4 years, 13% ages 5 to 11 years and 4% adults ages 19 years and above.
