Yap Communicable Disease Report: Week 17

Yap FM - Yap Communicable Disease Report for EpiWeek 17 of 2026, covering the period from April 20 to April 26, 2026. This report provides a comprehensive summary of syndromic trends and activities reported from 23 sentinel sites across the state.


Total Encounters: 543 patients seen across all 23 sentinel sites.


Diarrhea (Alert – 2nd consecutive week): 18 cases reported: OPD Main Hospital (9), Tamil CHC (1), Falalis Dispensary (3), Wottegai Dispensary (2), Woleai Health Center (4).


Laboratory confirmation: 3 positive cases — one with EPEC & ETEC, one with Norovirus, and one with Rotavirus.


Influenza-Like Illness (ILI): One case reported at OPD Main Hospital.

No influenza testing was conducted this week. Total Syndromic Cases: 20 cases reported across all sentinel sites.


Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD): No cases reported this week. Cumulative case count remains at 85 cases reported, with 94% being children aged 0 to 11 years.
