Yap Communicable Disease Report: Week 20

Yap FM - Yap Communicable Disease Report for EpiWeek 20, covering the period from May 11 to 17 of 2026. This report provides a comprehensive summary of syndromic trends and activities reported from 23 sentinel sites across the state, including laboratory-confirmed cases.


Total Encounters: 571 patient visits across 23 sentinel sites with all syndromes reported by OPD Main Hospital and no syndromic alert this week.


Diarrhea (On alert for 4 consecutive weeks): 4 cases reported. Laboratory testing confirmed one diarrheal case positive for multiple diarrheagenic E. coli pathotypes (EAEC, EPEC, ETEC) in co‑infection with the Vibrio group.


Dengue‑Like Illness (DLI): 4 cases reported. Zero confirmed positive cases for Leptospirosis or Dengue Influenza-Like Illness (ILI):


Influenza-Like Illness (ILI): One case reported at OPD Main Hospital. No influenza testing was conducted this week.

Total Syndromic Cases: 9 cases reported across all sentinel sites.

Note: Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD) No cases reported this week. Cumulative case count remains at 85 cases reported, 94% being children aged 0 to 11 years of age.
